Appointment- 40 Weeks and Counting

Well my due date has come and gone and I'm still pregnant. I had an appointment today. I had an exam done and I am 3-4 centimeters dilated and 70% effaced. She stripped my membranes and put some primrose extract on my cervix. (Primrose is a plant extract that should help labor along.) When she was asking me if I want those things done, in my head I was laughing, because if she had asked a week ago I would have refused because I wanted everything to be natural. It's amazing how 2 days past the due date makes a person so anxious to have a baby!

Appointment Yesterday

I had an appointment yesterday. All is well. I asked my midwife if it was normal to have as many braxton-hicks contractions as I have been having (as many as a dozen an hour) and she said it's fine and just my body getting ready.

Appointment- 38 weeks and 4 days pregnant

I had an appointment this morning. My midwife was measuring my belly then we listened to the heartbeat then she was feeling my belly and said, "that's a good-size baby." Then I said, " does that mean she is big?!?!?" she said, "you don't want a little baby." and I asked how big she thought she was and she said that she feels like a 7 and a half pound baby. 7 1/2 lbs.!!!!!! That's a big baby!!! and I told my midwife that too. I said, "that's too big for a first baby!" but she just smiled and said that it's a good size for a first baby. I wanted to tell her that she's not the one who has to push her out in a few days!!!!

Belly Shot- 37 Weeks

Today I am 37 weeks pregnant. I can't believe how far along I am. Well, actually I can. Nine months is a long time. I still have 3 weeks and I have a feeling they are going to take forever.

Nursery Pictures

I had an appointment today. I was negative for the group-B strep. She is still head down and now we just wait.....I hope she gets here soon. I can't wait to meet her and see what she looks like and get to know her better.
